Compliance Monitoring Manager (CMM)

Role Summary

Reporting directly to the Accountable Manager (AOC) with additional responsibility to the Accountable Manager (Part 145),  for ensuring that the compliance monitoring programme for West Atlantic UK is properly implemented, maintained, and continually reviewed and improved.

The Compliance Monitoring Manager (CMM) is responsible for ensuring the Company's operations comply with the requirements of ORO.GEN.200 and Part.CAMO.200

Responsibilities

  • Ensure that the activities of the operator are monitored for compliance with the applicable regulatory requirements.
  • Provide independent audit and inspections of the operation in accordance with the compliance monitoring programme.
  • Ensure all personnel involved in compliance monitoring are adequately trained and competent.
  • Manage and control to ensure the Company is compliant with the appropriate regulations relating to compliance documentation and procedures.
  • Responsible for the proactive management of Compliance so that any early warning signs of non-compliance are documented and acted upon.
  • Safeguard that contracted maintenance is adequately monitored for compliance with the contract or work order.
  • Responsble for the issue of an audit plan is properly implemented, maintained, and continually reviewed and improved.
  • Responsible for the management of external relations, including the Civil Aviation Authority (CAA), IATA, ICAO, Suppliers, third parties.
  • To ensure that the "Safety Policy" is embodied in the Compliance Management System and that the policies are disseminated throughout the Organisation.
  • Implement and supervise the quality assurance program.
  • Ensure the mechanisms and processes of quality assurance is embodied in all Company staff, in accordance with internal and external quality control requirements.
  • Facilitate, communicate, and coordinate between the areas of flight operations, continuing airworthiness, Part 145 , contracted organisations, safety, and operations through mandatory and ad-hoc Meetings.
  • Participate in departmental meetings in support of the Compliance Monitoring System.
  • Deputise for the Safety Manager making certain there is adequate cover during times of absence.
  • Ensure the adequacy of corrective actions, effective root cause analysis and proper implementation of preventative actions

In relation to the specific activities the CMM is responsible for:

  • Reviewing, at regular intervals, the Compliance System and incorporate improvements to the Compliance System as they are identified.
  • Controling the Compliance Monitoring System via the Management System.
  • Ensuring full and up to date compliance with the audit and inspection plan, verifying that it is operationally independent and objective.
  • Monitor and administer the Internal Compliance Monitoring function of each department
  • Providing the Accountable Manager (AOC) and Accountable Manager (Part 145) with advice and guidance on compliance issues and risks.
  • Approve audit due dates and extend when necessary for the correction of non-conformities.
  • Attend and coordinate with all external auditors including the authorities (CAA).
  • Supervise the coordination of audits to companies supplying products or services.
  • Evaluate West Atlantic UK’s operational quality standards.
  • Maintaining and updating all aspects of the Management System Manual related to compliance.
  • Provide training in compliance either directly or through a third-party organisation.

 

Academic/Educational Requirements

A relevant engineering degree or an aircraft maintenance technician qualification with additional education that is acceptable to the competent authority.

‘Relevant engineering degree’ means an engineering degree from aeronautical, mechanical, electrical, electronic, avionic, or other studies that are relevant to the maintenance and/or continuing airworthiness of aircraft/aircraft components, or

  • The above may be replaced by 5 years of experience in addition to those already defined above. These 5 years should cover an appropriate combination of experience in tasks related to aircraft maintenance and/or continuing airworthiness management and/or surveillance of such tasks.

Preferred Skills/Experience/knowledge:

  • 5 years of relevant work experience, of which at least 2 years should be from the aeronautical industry in an appropriate position.
  • Be able to demonstrate relevant knowledge and experience in compliance monitoring.
  • Management systems including compliance monitoring systems and safety management.
  • Demonstrate relevant knowledge, background and satisfactory experience related to aircraft continuing airworthiness management
  • Human Factors principles
  • Prior experience on Safety Management Systems
  • Proven ability to work under pressure
  • Excellent communication skills (both written & verbal)
  • Problem solving & planning, day to day and strategic
  • Risk management
  • Relevant parts of operational requirements and procedures.
  • Maintenance methods
  • Applicable regulations
  • Prior knowledge of complex aircraft types such as the Boeing 737 or similar

Are you an experienced ATR Captain looking for new opportunities and keen to join a team that has thousands of end customers every day?  West Atlantic UK, a leading cargo operator in the UK, is looking for experienced ATR Captains to join our friendly team to ensure our end customers receive their deliveries on time.  The role includes a fixed roster pattern as well as opportunities for progression to Ground Instructor, Line Training Instructor and TRI/TRE and more.

Cargo operations offer their own challenging and very rewarding flying opportunities that are very different to passenger operations.  As an ATR Captain working for West Atlantic UK, you will be responsible for ensuring the safe operation of our aircraft to help our customers achieve their delivery targets so that their customers (you and me) in turn get a speedy and reliable service.

West Atlantic UK is trusted by the Royal Mail, DHL, UPS and many more to provide that reliable service.  We also operate ad-hoc charters for a varied customer base from transporting car parts and musical equipment into and out of Europe to moving dangerous goods.

Essential Requirements

  • Must have the right to work in the UK
  • UK CAA Pilot’s Licence
  • ATR Type Rated (preferably 200/500)
  • Current UK Class 1 Medical
  • Minimum 2000 hours with 500 hours on type as Pilot -in-Command (PIC)
  • ICAO Level 5 English

Responsibilities:

  • Safely operate Boeing 737-800 aircraft during nighttime freight flights.
  • Maintain compliance with all aviation regulations and company procedures.
  • Ensure the safety and comfort of the crew and cargo on board.
  • Collaborate effectively with the flight crew and ground staff.

 

Requirements:

  • Valid EASA Airline Transport Pilot License (ATPL).
  • Minimum 4000 hours with 500 on type as Pilot-in-Command (PIC).
  • Type-rated and current on Boeing 737-800.

 

It is an advantage if you have:

  • Line training experience.
  • TRI/TRE qualification.
