We are currently looking for a Chief pilot to strengthen our Management team. Reporting to the CEO (Accountable Manager), the Chief pilot is responsible for managing the pilot staff.


Job Description

The primary duties and responsibilities of the position are:

  • Provide the overall Chief pilot function (management of the pilot staff). Note that it is not a Flight Operations Manager (NPFO) job.
  • Lead and manage the different Fleet Managers.
  • Collaborate with other Nominated persons (maintenance, ground ops, safety, etc.), services managers, HR, etc.
  • Collaborate with Crew Planning, Rostering and Training departments to optimize long and short-term flight crew scheduling.
  • Ease the relationships and communication between ground and flight staff. Provide facilitation support to solve possible issues.
  • Manage the Flight Crew recruitment (organization and actual pilot selection), and the internal flight staff development and carrier changes (internal assessment, mentoring activities, etc.).
  • Run leadership demonstrating high professionalism to maintain confidence and respect from the teams and aviation authorities (including in the active flight crew duties).
  • Publicly represent and promote the company, including defending its interests at internal and external levels (aviation industry, authorities, expert groups, etc).


Profile

  • Chief pilot or any flight management experience is an asset.
  • Exemplary active or former business aviation pilot (EASA ATPL or Frozen ATPL with extensive and appreciated operational experience).
  • Leadership and ability to take decisions under pressure.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills to communicate effectively across the organization and promote good compromise to support safe, efficient, and legal operations.
  • Ability to work with a sense of urgency and shift priorities to accomplish objectives.
  • Fluent in French and English.
  • Advanced computer proficiency in Microsoft Office.
