INTRODUCTION

The Flight Attendant is responsible for cabin safety, cabin preparation and customer service.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  1. Perform or assist in the performance of all safety duties; provide customers with safety information to ensure onboard safety compliance with government and company regulations; read and interpret service and emergency instructions and communicate information to customers and crew; operate mechanical equipment and safety equipment to include stairs, oxygen systems, aircraft doors, evacuation slides/rafts, fire extinguishers, galley equipment, communications equipment and lighting systems;  monitor all safety conditions and emergency equipment of the aircraft while on the ground and in flight.
  2. Participate in crew briefing; communicate with cockpit crew regarding problems and information
  3. Ensure compliance with federal regulations, responding and providing leadership during emergency situations and/or in handling disruptive customers.
  4. Provide leadership, direction and assistance during an emergency, including aircraft evacuation, administering first aid to ill or incapacitated customers and unusual incidents.
  5. Perform or assist in the performance of passenger service and in cabin preparation duties; provide accurate and courteous information to passengers; assist passengers with carry-on items; provide in-flight beverage, meal and other customer needs consistent with Company’s standard to ensure a positive customer experience; maintain neat and orderly cabin and galley; maintain inventory of beverages at the end of each flight.
  6. Serve as a positive, constructive, communicative leader for the organization and its customers and policies for the industry and its participants.                                                                                      
  7. Create a positive work environment for employees; maintain open, honest and timely communications to the organization’s internal and external customers; serve as a positive role model for ethical behavior and promote an awareness and understanding of positive ethical and moral principles that is consistent with these principles; provide guidance, direction, management and support in a secure and dignified work environment; promote and support the mission of Empire Airlines, Inc..
  8. Other related duties as assigned.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

Must be 18 years of age with High School diploma or equivalent, with a FAA issued Flight Attendant Certificate or have the ability to complete Flight Attendant Training.  Must be tall enough, without shoes to reach overhead bins.  Must be height/weight proportionate so as not to exceed specific aircraft dimensions, fit quickly through any exit, and fit in to the jump seat and harness without any modifications.   Must have 20/30 correctable vision.  Must have the ability to reach and operate all emergency equipment and exits.  Must have customer service experience.  Must have exceptional communication skills, both oral and written be computer literate and posses a driver’s license and insurable record through Empire’s policy.  Must adhere to the Company’s FAA/DOT required Drug and Alcohol Program.

WORKING CONDITIONS

Work is performed primarily in an aircraft.  Will be exposed to inclement weather and various noise levels associated with aircraft.   May be exposed to physical hazards and may be required to carry, lift, pull or push parts and equipment weighing up to 50 pounds, or move a beverage cart (approx 250 lbs). Requires manual dexterity, reaching, bending, stooping, kneeling, twisting, standing, walking, speaking, seeing and hearing to conduct business.

PAY

Training Pay - $303/week  (approximately 4 weeks of training)

Year 1 (after training is complete) - $404/week  $21,008/annual

Year 2 -   $420/week  $21,840/annual
