Deputy Operations Manager - Part Time Role

Air Napier is looking for a Deputy Operations Manager. This position will be between 10-15 hours a week to start with and the right candidate will need to conduct work out of the Air Napier office. Air Napier has its own terminal building at the Napier Airport. 

The Deputy Operations Manager is to report to the Operations Manager and CEO.  The position is not a CAA approved Senior Person.

Responsibilities

• Planning the schedule of operations.

• Allocating aircraft to the schedule taking into account weather, aircraft availability, fuel planning, payloads and performance.

• Drafting the roster of pilots including managing duty periods, time off and leave and taking into account competencies and qualifications.

• Forecasting aircraft maintenance and managing the impact on operations.

• Liaison with the Maintenance Controller and maintenance provider to manage the induction of aircraft for maintenance.

• Liaison with pilots for currency, competency checks, medical, duty time records, periodic training and validity of authorisations; and, operational administration.

• Participating in and monitoring the Safety Management System for air operations including risk identification, change management and incident reporting.

Experience

The Deputy Operations Manager is expected to have wide experience in aviation and be knowledgeable of aircraft performance and ground handling procedures, risk management and the use of Safety Management Systems as they apply to air operations. The position holder is expected to have sound ability in computing and in particular, with the MS Office applications including Word, Excel and Powerpoint.

Training

If the candidate was qualified as a flying instructor (minimum of B Category) and had experience in operational training, the position could be extended to include the appointment of Training Manager.

Line Pilot – Full Time Role Fixed Wing (Pistons)

Air Napier has an opening for a pilot to fly Part 135 commercial air transport operations SPIFR at our Napier base which currently operates a Piper Navajo, Piper Seneca's and an IFR Cherokee 6 on our scheduled freight run, regular charter and scheduled flights.
 

About Us: 
We operate scheduled freight runs, regular charter and scheduled flights out of our Napier base.

 

Minimum Qualifications: 

710 hours total time
Multi Engine Instrument rating (multi preferable)
125 hours cross country minimum, including 30 hours IFR cross country
50 hours actual or simulated instrument time
25 hours Night
ATO Experience preferable
Type Ratings on PA 32, PA 34 & PA 31 an advantage
