Job Title: Commercial Account Handler

Location:  Birmingham (Off Junction 1 M5)

Salary: Negotiable on Experience with uncapped commission bonuses                                                                             

Due to our continued success and growth, we at RBA Commercial Insurance Ltd have a fantastic opportunity for a Commercial Account Handler. The successful candidate will be working as part of a small team.

In addition to good technical knowledge, it is equally important to have excellent client service skills and the ability to offer a high level of assistance. You will have good communication skills both verbal and written, the ability to work under pressure and the willingness to take on challenges, which will ultimately reward the company with business retention alongside new growth.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Dealing with a book of existing customers providing high service levels taking inbound calls for both potentially new and existing customers. 
  • Conducting mid-term adjustments, renewals and new business quotations on an SME to Corporate level.
  • Compliance with FCA guidelines.
  • Working closely with other Account Handlers and Executives.
  • Cross-selling where possible to existing clients and ensuring sales opportunities are realised.
  • Ability to work to targets and KPIs.

Knowledge & Experience:


It is essential that candidates have previous commercial insurance experience dealing with a variety of SME to Corporate products on a daily basis. Strong knowledge of Microsoft Word, Outlook and Excel would be considered essential. Overview

We are currently looking to find an Estimator to play a key role primarily to support the continuous flow of new business throughout the organisation including feasibility, tender and procurement works.

Skills and Experience Required

The Estimator position would be required to work on current and future Civil Engineering projects in our groundwork Division. You would be required to have a Knowledge of MS Office, Excel, Project and Word, use of the constructive suite, NEC3, JCT Minor Works, Highways method of measurement and SMM7 in order to enable the smooth running and compliance of projects.

  • Be desirable Industry experience in groundwork and civil engineering of being an Estimator for a Civil Engineering company.
  • Have Commercial and business acumen across all areas of the business
  • Ability to meet targets and deadlines
  • Self-motivated, confident, dynamic, motivated, team player
  • Results-driven - focussed approach
  • Flexible, adaptable and resilient
  • Full and valid UK Driving Licence
  • Willingness to travel throughout the UK

Main responsibilities will include:

  • Production of robust estimates for Ground Works.
  • Attend site meetings and to ensure accurate measures and knowledge of the job is gained
  • Prepare and issue sub-contract enquiries and assessment of quotations upon receipt
  • Pricing of Groundwork, concrete, drainage, surfacing and other external works
  • Represent the company in its best interests at all times
  • Collate and resolve tender/client queries
  • Preparation of Contract Enquiry Packages – Main Contract or Sub-Contract, pricing variations
  • Maximise sales opportunities and update sales pipeline
  • Be able to spot opportunities in tenders to secure a competitive edge
  • Advice on project procurement options, contracts and tender procedures
  • Report and present tender submissions, to final submission

Location
Working from the companies head office in Birmingham, however you would be required to travel to and from current sites on a regular basis to attend contractor meetings. 

Remuneration

Requirements:
· Ideally experienced driving and operating a Concrete Spin Mixer Vehicle, but training can be given.
· Full Clean Driving License with no more than 6 points and no convictions under DD, ID or DR categories.
· Ability to establish and maintain positive and effective working relationships with the team
· To adhere to company health and safety regulations.
Flexibility is important to the company although it is envisaged that most of our work will be within the West Midlands.
